Dear Brothers,

Almost 2 years ago I began a journey in my life called "Grand Knight."  I want to thank all of you for allowing me the honor of serving as your Grand Knight.  I thank God for all the good works that were done and pray for the strength and inspiration that we may do more.  A planning meeting was held Tuesday, May 15, and the future direction of the council was discussed.  We decided to focus on 3 areas over the next year: increasing our membership, raising funds for a specific charity (possibly the K of C Texas State Charities program), and hosting a fun,
social event (possibly a KC Follies Night).

The following is a proposed slate of officers to be voted on at our June 13th meeting:

FIRST COMMUNION
It was a beautiful weekend from every point of view. Ninety-nine children received Jesus in Holy Communion for the first time on May 6 and 7.  I know that the efforts of all the Knights praying for them brought many graces to the children and to us Knights as well.  I hope that each of you sponsors were able to meet your child afterwards.  After each Mass there was a presentation of certificates, cards and other presents.  Our Council gave each child a commemorative stained glass picture of Jesus with a child and a congratulation card.  May I suggest that you each continue to pray for the child you sponsored for the rest of your live. And that you will eventually meet happily in Heaven. (Paul Metcalf)

BASEBALL AT ENRON FIELD
Plan on attending the KC Family Week Baseball outing at the new Enron Field. The date we are looking at is Sunday, August 6th at 2:00 p.m. versus Montreal Expos. Sign-up early as seats go fast. This is a great family event that's fun for everyone!

GOLF SHIRTS ------AGAIN!
For those who confirmed their requests for golf shirts recently, you have a very good chance of seeing them at the next meeting.  If you want further golf shirts or T-shirts please see Paul Metcalf at the meeting.

CORPORATE COMMUNION
Brother Knights, Our Council has another opportunity to exemplify our faith in action. I’m speaking of the next scheduled Corporate Communion.  The date is July 30 at the 9:30 a.m. Mass.  The KC choir will be there to sing.  The 4th degree members will lead our procession.  I would like to see a large turnout of members and their families participating in this sacred event.
