Council Vote - Sept 22 Business Meeting A
request was received from Sacred Heart Church this week for assistance
in purchasing a new Monstrance for the Church. This
monstrance will be used every Wednesday when Adoration of the Blessed
Sacrement is observed in the Chapel from 3:00PM until 10:00PM and on
other occasions as needed.
A motion was made by PGK George Boyum and seconded by DGK David Hobson that reads as follows:
Knights
of Columbus Council 7445 will contribute up to $2,000 (two thousand
dollars) for the purchase of a new Monstrance for Sacred Heart Catholic
Church - Richmond.
Discussion will be held on the Sep 22nd Business Meeting before the vote is taken at that Meeting. Please feel free to come and voice your concerns/opinions.
Funds
are available to cover this cost from the profits raised from Sacred
Heart Parisioners and it is only right that we use these funds to
support Sacred Heart Church needs.

Sep Council BBQ Cook - Support/Results
Great
support from the Council and from the Parish in this cook this weekend.
Saturday morning (before the confirmation mass) Brother Greg Nemec and
the Grand Knight picked up the meat and supplies from Kroger.
After this Mass, Brothers Greg Nemec, Art Hausler, Larry Stryk, and the
Grand Knight seasoned all the chickens and ribs. Brothers Art and
Larry finished cooking the ribs Sat afternoon before heading home.
DGK
David Hobson opened up the FLC and prepared breakfast for the Sunday
cooking team composed of Brothers Greg Nemec, Roy Brents, Leonard
Moreno, Gerry Veazey, Jerry Van Castern, Andy Farnum, and Bean Cooker
Jaime Hernandez. Assisting with the Sales were Don Hoeveler, Roy
Cerrillo, Mike Spiech, Paul Metcalf, Butch Stoelje, Bernie Lednicky,
Marty Gibula, Larry Stryk, and Art Hausler. Also has Brother Craig
Braden who is transferring in from St Laurence to our Council hang in
and help with the sales.
Sold
out all the meat except for the sausage, but I am sure that Brother
Rickey will use quite a bit of this in the Gumbo for the Sep 22 Business
meeting. Thanks to all the Council helpers and buyers as well as
the buyers from the Parish.

VA HOSPITAL VISITATION Future
2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Oct 4th, November
1st, February 7th, April 3rd, June 19th. These dates may change as
we have quite a few conflicts with our 2015-2016 Calendar. Working
with the visitation coordinator Half
a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to
protect our freedoms is a small price to pay. We will leave Sacred
Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the
Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart
parking lot by 12:00noon or earlier. Make
room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your
calendar. Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for
the service to us and our country. |

Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood - Last
year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights with
their families attend and we would like to more than double that this
year, but it takes your participation to make this happen. You do
not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2 would
be greatly appreciated. There will be time slot signup in the
future. Start planning NOW to support.
Pro-Life Ace Wings - Viewing
the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the five
event requirements. This is a very informative documentary involving
women having had abortions and others previously involved in the
abortion industry who are now Pro-Life. Abortion is not a Choice, it is a BABY'S LIFE ENDED. Be Pro-Life your Mother was |
