Council Monstrance Vote - UPDATE
The
Council vote on incurring up to a $2,000 expenditure for a new
Monstrance for Sacred Heart Church FAILED at the 9/22 Council Business
Meeting. The Parish has changed the scope and plans for this
project without complete disclosure to the Council. Brother Art
will be asking for a new definition from the church staff on the new
plans. These "revised" plans will be shared as soon as they are
received in either a News Blast or a weekly Newsletter. A new
motion based on the revised church plans will have to be made at a
Council Business meeting and posted for 30 days before a vote can be
taken on that motion. |

VA HOSPITAL VISITATION Future
2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Oct 4th, November
1st, February 7th, April 3rd, June 19th. These dates may change as
we have quite a few conflicts with our 2015-2016 Calendar. Working
with the visitation coordinator Half
a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to
protect our freedoms is a small price to pay. We will leave Sacred
Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the
Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart
parking lot by 12:00noon or earlier. Make
room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your
calendar. Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for
the service to us and our country. |
Pro Life Activities Sun - Oct 4th - Life Chain - 2:00PM - 3:30PM - This
is a Nationwide event and we will be supporting 1 of more than 150
Texas sites to participate in this Prayerful Family Friendly
event. There will be sign up after Masses starting Sep
26/27th. Sign up is not required to support - all who show
up will be welcome and Family Friendly signs will be provided at the
event. Friday - Oct 9th - 12:00 Noon - 1:00PM - PRMC Friends for Life Luncheon
- Sugar Creek Country Club - Sugarland. Come learn about the services
provided by PRMC and hear an amazing story from their clients.
There are still a few slots open. Call Trina Powers or Kimberly
Webber at 281-232-2375 to reserve a spot. You'll be glad you did.
Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood -
Last year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights
with their families attend and we would like to more than double that
this year, but it takes your participation to make this happen.
You do not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2
would be greatly appreciated. There will be time slot signup after
Mass. Start planning NOW to support.
Pro-Life Ace Wings -
Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the
five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary
involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in
the abortion industry who are now Pro-Life. Abortion is not a Choice, it is a BABY'S LIFE ENDED. Be Pro-Life your Mother was |
