Council Monstrance Vote - UPDATE
The
Council vote on incurring up to a $2,000 expenditure for a new
Monstrance for Sacred Heart Church FAILED at the 9/22 Council Business
Meeting. The Parish has changed the scope and plans for this
project without complete disclosure to the Council. Brother Art
will be asking for a new definition from the church staff on the new
plans. These "revised" plans will be shared as soon as they are
received in either a News Blast or a weekly Newsletter as well as at
Council Meetings. A new motion based on the revised church plans
will have to be made at a Council Business meeting and posted for 30
days before a vote can be taken on that motion. |

KC BBQ COOK - SOLD OUT
Brother
Raul Martinez and Raul DeLeon picked up all the meat for the cook this
weekend on Sat and prepped the chickens for the cook. Brothers Art
Hausler and Larry Stryk seasoned and cooked the ribs on Sat for the
cook and the ribs looked very delicious. On Sunday morning, DGK
David Hobson cooked breakfast for the cook team made up of Raul Martinez
(Bean Man), Raul DeLeon, Jared Strnadel, Ken Kelly, Chris Haskins, and
Gerry Veazey. Sales team was kind of light this sales with
Brothers Larry Stryk, Butch Stoelke, Michael Spiech, Art Hausler, and GK
Howard Harbes moving out all of the product that was cooked.
Likely could have sold a few more chickens - but selling out is better
than the significant left overs we have had over the past few months.
THANKS
TO ALL OF THE COOKERS AND HELP AND ALSO TO ANY BROTHERS THAT PICKED UP
SOME FOOD TO GIVE YOUR LADIES A BREAK FROM COOKING. |
Eucharistic Adoration Sacred Heart Chapel Please take time to visit with our Lord in Adoration between the hours of 3:00PM and 10:00PM on Wednesdays
in the Chapel. The adoration will start at 3:00PM with the
Devine Mercy Chaplet. All are invited and any time spent will
offer graces and blessings for you, your family, Sacred Heart Church,
and the Holy Catholic Church. At the close of the Adoration time,
the Devine Mercy Chaplet is once more recited along with a benediction
that is supported by Fathers Michael and/or Thomas.
Please consider
committing to a specific time slot every week. There are
forms at the back of the Church and Chapel to sign up. A
committed time is not a requirement to attend Eucharistic Adoration.

VA HOSPITAL VISITATION We did not support the VA visit this weekend because of the cook and other activities in the Parish. Future
2015-2016 dates that our Council is scheduled are: Nov 1st, Feb 7th,
Apr 3rd, and Jun 19th. These dates may change as we have quite a
few conflicts with our Council 2015-2016 Calendar. Half
a day to show your support of men who gave part of their lives to
protect our freedoms is a small price to pay. We will leave Sacred
Heart at about 7-7:15AM to car pool to the Veterans Hospital in the
Houston Medical Center and should be back in the Sacred Heart
parking lot by 12:00noon or earlier. Make
room on your calendar for some or all of these dates on your
calendar. Our Veterans deserve you to give back to them for
the service to us and our country. |
Pro Life Activities Friday - Oct 9th - 12:00 Noon - 1:00PM - PRMC Friends for Life Luncheon
- Sugar Creek Country Club - Sugarland. Come learn about the services
provided by PRMC and hear an amazing story from their clients.
There are still a few slots open. Call Trina Powers or Kimberly
Webber at 281-232-2375 to reserve a spot. You'll be glad you did. Sat- Oct 17th - 6:30AM - 3:30PM - 40 Days for Life Prayer Vigil at Gulfcoast Planned Parenthood -
Last year we had over 25 Sacred Heart parishioners and Brother Knights
with their families attend and we would like to more than double that
this year, but it takes your participation to make this happen.
You do not need to participate in the entire 9 hours - but an hour or 2
would be greatly appreciated. There will be time slot signup after
Mass. Start planning NOW to support.
Pro-Life Ace Wings -
Viewing the movie "Blood Money" (80 minutes) will serve as three of the
five event requirements. This is a very informative documentary
involving women having had abortions and others previously involved in
the abortion industry who are now Pro-Life. Abortion is not a Choice, it is a BABY'S LIFE ENDED. Be Pro-Life your Mother was |
