Passing of Brother Sir Knight's Loved One It
is with heavy heart that we announce the Passing of Charlotte
Constantine's (wife of PGK Rickey) uncle. Brother Rickey and
Charlotte are in New Orleans with family during this difficult
time. Please pray for them and the balance of the family during
this time, as well as safe travels for all. O God, Eternal Rest grant all the souls of your faithful departed. May perpetual light shine on them. Amen |
February Council BBQ/Super Bowl Brisket Cook Super
Bowl Brisket Sales has been steady for the last few weeks and will
likely pick up next weekend now that we know the Broncos and Panthers
will be facing off. Brother Greg Nemec (713-416-2983) will be the
lead for this cook and will be calling ALL BBQ team members to get commits for the cook. Please share your time and talents with the Council and Sacred Heart Parish. Your support is greatly appreciated. |
Great Participation Wed, Jan 20th - Council Free Throw Contest -
Thanks to Brother Chris Haskins for leading this Youth reach out.
Participation was great with 30 youth sharing their basketball free
throw skills. The Council winners move on to the District
Competition on Feb 6th (11-1) at Holy Rosary School Gym in Rosenberg and
if they win there on to the Diocese Contest on Feb 13th in Houston. Fri, Jan 22nd - Clergy Appreciation Dinner -
Thanks to all the Brother Knights who supported this event. Due
to schedule conflicts Deacon Ries and Father Thomas were the only
Sacred Heart Clergy to attend the event. We were Blessed in having
Seminarian and Brother Knight Derek Junek and his parents in
attendance. They were thrilled to be there. In addition, we
were Blessed to have Matthew Krewsleski and his dad, David, in
attendance. Although neither are Knights at this time, Matt has
applied to the Diocese to enter the Seminary and waiting for their
response. Please pray continuously for all our seminarians as they
respond to God's call. We are truly blessed with 5 - possible 6 -
seminarians from our Parish. |
January/February Service Opportunities Tue, Jan 26th, Council Business Meeting -come
meet and socialize with your Brother Knights and learn what is going on
as we move into Super Bowl BBQ cook and (6) upcoming Fish Fry Cooks
during Lent. Lots happening. Fri - Sun, Feb 5-7th - Super Bowl Brisket Cook - See above insert Tue, Feb 9th - Mardi Gras Pancake Cook for Sacred Heart Parish -
Need help in the kitchen and clearing tables -Serving starts at 6:30PM
but cooking and prep starts at about 4:00PM in the FLC kitchen. Come and
help and join the fun. Call Brother Art Hausler (281-633-1643) if
you can assist Fri, Feb 12th, Lenten Fish Fry #1 - Sacred Heart FLC -
Serving does not start until about 3:30PM (after 3PM Stations in the
Chapel) but there is lots of help needed to preparation that will start
at about 12:30PM. If you can't make the early start come and share
an hour or two with you Brother Knights - the more help we get, the
easier it is for everyone. Call Brother DGK David Hobson (832-755-8239)
