 | St Joseph Abbey Vote 
 The
 expenditure vote of matching the $500 the Council received from Supreme
 for our 40 Cans for Lent Drive ($500 has been received from Supreme) passed in the motion vote on 26 April Council Business Meeting.   Thanks to all the Council members for your support of this very worthwhile cause.
 
 Your continued prayers for the Seminarians and the Abbey are needed and always appreciated.

 Thanks to all who assisted Brother Greg Nemec with the Council Monthly BBQ Cook this
 past weekend.  It appears that the sales were brisk but we did not
 sell out.  Looks like we will have Ribs, Chicken, and Sausage 
(with a few sides) for our meal on the 10th. Come and join us for this 
social meeting and sample the BBQ team's cooking.  Sorry I do not 
have a list of the Brother Knights who supported the cook as I was out of town at the State Convention.  
 
 Thanks again to all the cooks, sales team, and buyers who supported our Council.    | 
 |  Service Opportunities Tue, May 3rd - Finishing Touches on Flower Beds -Brothers
 Larry Stryk, Art Hausler, and Kevin Eaves will be working on the flower
 beds at the front of the Church.  They could use some help putting
 mulch around the plants.  Bring some shovels and other tools and 
join the fun.  This will start about 5:00PM and likely carry on 
until 7-7:30PM. Mon, May 9th - Spanish 1st Degree Exemplification - St Basil Council - Sugarland -  If you knows of any Knight candidates who would feel more comfortable attending aSPANISH 1st Degree Exemplification , please let Brother Marty Gibula or I know.  Following is from DD Tido Peralez: Please have candidates, accompanied by a member of your council, at
 the St. Basil Council 4204 Hall, 702 Burney Road in Sugar Land by 6:30 
pm. The degree will start at 7:30 pm. Please bring your Council's 
Constitutional Roll, a completed and signed Form 100, and an 
Exemplification Packet for each candidate, i.e., a Rosary, an Emblem of 
the Order, a filled out and signed 1st Degree membership card, a blank 
Form 100, a Rosary Card, and a "These Men They Call Knights" booklet.

 Hope to see you at the council social meeting.  An update on the 
happenings at the State Convention last weekend will be shared and 
question/concerns will be addressed.
 
 
 Sat, May 14th - Yard Clean-up w/ Sacred Heart Faith Formation Teens -
 This is a follow up to the project that was started late last year for 
elderly Parishioner Vlasta Trahan.   More details will come as
 soon as they are shared with me.   Come and show our Sacred Heart 
youth that the Knights at Sacred Heart support them and our 
parishioners. 
 Sat, May 21st - Adopt a Highway  7:30AM / Barbara Gritczek Yard Clean Up -  We
 will meet at the Shell Station at the corner of FMs 359 & 723 to 
clean highway trash along a 2 mile stretch of FM359.  If we get 6-8
 people (youth welcome) the task can be completed in less than 2 
hours.  After the highway cleanup is completed we will head over to
 1827 Runaway Scrape in the Grove off of Pitts Road to assist an widow 
of a Knight with yard cleanup.  We will shut this down by 1:00PM 
and see if a follow up visit is needed.
 Sat, May 28th - Feast of Corpus Christi - Sacred Heart Procession & Council  Corporate Communion   Fr
 Michael is requesting a Feast of Corpus Christi Parade on Sat May 28th 
prior to the Sat Vigil with the parade starting at 4:00PM.  He has 
asked for a 4th Degree Turnout and due to this we are moving the Council
 Corporate Communion to the Sat Vigil.  Please plan to attend in 
Regalia or Social Tux if you are a 4th Degree Knight and in Council Gear
 if you are not 4th Degree.   More details will be provided as
