Thank YOU!
Thanks
to all brother Knights and family members that assisted with last
week's FINAL Fish Fry. The past 6 weeks could not have been
accomplished without you. We had so many positive comments
within the church and had a huge impact on the
community. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Also
thanks to all assisting with this weekend's BBQ prep, cook and
sales. The weather was perfect and we sold out!!!
And lastly - thank you for all the effort put into the 40 Cans for Lent Food Drive. See Brother Karl's recap below: All, God is good! The
people of Sacred Heart demonstrated incredible generosity this week. We
collected and donated a record shattering 2,800 pounds this week
(almost one and a half tons!). It took two vehicles to haul it all over
to Catholic Charities this morning. This brings our total for this Lent
to 7,878 pounds. Obviously we blew away our totals from last year by
1,184 pounds or almost 20%.
Thanks to all for your part in
making this ministry an overwhelming success this year. From the "mass
captains" who diligently served each week in collecting and loading the
donated items, to the parish staff for their support in ensuring that
the word got out via bulletin and pulpit announcements as well as
reaching out to the families of our religious education students. And a
very special thank you to Robert Springer for the use of his truck and
his dedicated service each week to delivering the goods to Catholic
Charities.
We are each blessed to be part of such a generous faith-filled community.
Have a wonderful Holy Week.
Pax, Karl
